Ta - Dah ! Introducing SIBOL No. 20! 'Flower Theme No. 5'.

Hi Everyone!

I hope you have all had a good day! I certainly have had a lot of fun in my Garden today! I do hope you will pop over to SIBOL.  I had some lovely Squares arrive today from Kate in the USA so I went outside and took photos of those and then afterwards I managed to finish my latest Blanket. I can't believe I've now put together 20 Blankets for the Elderly. Work that out 20 x 25 Squares = 500 Squares!

I'd just like you all to know that SIBOL - my spin-off blog for the 'Sunshine Blankets' has
been ever so busy these last few days, and I'm really just telling you that we have some new
team bloggers over there and they have been writing posts for us all. It's been such a pleasure to
welcome them and I'll look forward to future posts. Please go back posts because there is a lot
to read. So Welcome Sabiha, Manda and 'The Girl'.

Also I listed our Challenges on 8th July. I do hope you will pop over and see if you fancy having
a go at anything.

Marion has made the most beautiful 'Strawberry and Cream' Squares too. She's had loads of comments
on Flickr so I hope you will pop over and look at her Slide Show too.

It's a pretty miserable day here in the UK. It's gone quiet cooler the last few days. Is our Summer over now? I wonder......

Tuesday's News a Ta - Dah SIBOL No. 17 and Australian Squares!

Hello Everyone!

I hope you are all having a good week.

I'm ever so excited today because a Blanket is finished! I've also got some really nice Squares to show you from Australia. LT81/Lauren.

If you visit SIBOL, you know we have Challenges over there. The Challenges just spur us on, give us ideas on what Squares to make. It is such fun. I do hope you will pay a visit if you haven't been over there. Details of all our Challenges are on the Side Bar.

We are collecting Squares for 'Men's Blankets'. We always think of Women in Nursing Homes but of course there are Men! We thought it would be nice to actually make some Darker Coloured Blankets for Men. So.... we have Challenges coming up for Men. Now we need Darker Colours. You know the Burgundys, Navys, Greens, Browns etc., and ....'Black and Whites!' which would also be okay to use. So please join us it's great fun.

The Deadline for the 'Men's Squares' (Darker Colours) is 31st August
The Deadline for the 'Black and White' Squares is 30th September.

Let's see what we come up with.

LT81/Lauren has sent me some gorgeous Squares all the way from Australia. Thank you Lauren. Her Squares are just so lovely, I'm sure you will want to take a look. She has made some in 'Black and White' then other colours suitable for the 'Men's Blankets'. I really appreciate your help Lauren. If you'd like pattern details please visit Lauren's Flickr site. If you click on the Square you will find information.

Would you like to see Lauren's Slide Show? I thought so here we go....

I'm also very excited because I have been making a Blanket in between the Flower ones. I do run out of wool on occcasions and when it's Saturday night or Sunday when the shops are closed, what does a girl do? Start something else I always think, don't let the time go to waste.

I have had Lunas' Squares for some months. Luna very kindly sent me some white Squares. Some had Flowers on which I am using in the Flower Blankets and the others had coloured centres. These had been waiting for hopefully other white ones to arrive. Well I'm really pleased because Nettie and her Mother very kindly sent me some white ones too. Then with one from Molly which was brightly coloured I thought I could put them altogether and make a white Blanket. I used one of my Squares too. I'm really pleased how the Blanket has turned out.

Mia Self very kindly sent me a ball of white wool which she no longer needed and I used this to edge the Squares and do part of the border. I am most grateful to you all. Thank you.

Here's the Slide Show, sit back and enjoy.

What pretty Squares from Spain for SIBOL! / Slideshow - A stroll around my Garden.,

Hi on Saturday!

I'm just loving Cosetespetites' Squares! All the way from Spain,. She has sent some beautiful Squares full of glorious colour. I do love the Orange and Green colour combination. I am so over the moon with all the gorgeous Squares I receive. I just can't wait to show you all!

Now I hope you will check her blog out, and I'm sure you will agree they are lovely.  Thanks so much Cosetespetites! Here's your Slide Show, sit back and enjoy!

I've just been messing around today. I thought I would take you for a stroll around my Garden. Wanna come?

Our house is not big by any means but sufficient for us. One thing we like very much is the privacy we have because no houses back on to us. We have a Conservatory and then a three level Patio. The Patio leads down to the lawned area. It's south facing and gets so hot out there. At the bottom of the Garden high up behind the trees on the embankment we have a train line. In the Summer we have Steam trains every weekend and at Christmastime we have the Santa Specials.. Great fun!

I hope you have enjoyed my Garden as much as I do.....
Have a good weekend everyone!

~Flowers in My Garden~ and Squares from the UK.

Hi Everyone! Happy Thursday.....

Just thought I would show you Flowers in my Garden.  I am not really green-fingers at all, but I do like making my hanging baskets up every year along with my containers. I thought you might like to see them. The Garden Bell when I have something to show you I will, that's if they don't fail......

These Geraniums are in a stone trough we carted back from France a couple of years ago.  Yes, I know it was terribly heavy, but 'The Girl' just had to have it!

Every year I plant Petunias up in my Dad's old wheelbarrow.

Geraniums planted up in BrendaS2's stone container.

One of my Hanging Baskets planted up......

Baroca (I think it's spelt not sure, lasts longer than lobelia). Busy Lizzies.

You've seen these on my table before. I usually display our SIBOL Squares with them. Petunias, Geraniums.

One of my Chimney pots full of Geraniums, Baroca, Buzy Lizzies.

Remember your pot BrendaS2? One of my Butterfly pots Brenda very kindly gave me one year. Full of Petunias.

Another of my Hanging Baskets. Geraniums, Buzy Lizzies and Petunias. Still to come out yet!

Another Basket of mine on the top patio.

This is the other stone trough on the top patio.

Well there they are. They certainly make outside a lot brighter! The Garden Bell very kindly sent me some seeds a while back. I have planted them. They are taking so long to come up. But we are getting there, so please keep checking. Let's hope we have something lovely to show you.

Thanks for taking a walk around my Garden.

Now I have had some really lovely Squares come in to day from 'The Girl'. I do hope you will pop over to SIBOL and have a look at them. Also Karin has posted some beautiful 'Strawberries and Cream' Squares, so pop over and take  a look 'PLEASE!'.

Thanks for visiting 'Mrs Twins' today!

UPDATE FRIDAY.

No time to stop, I have my nieces' Prom tonight. Please visit SIBOL because Margaret from the UK very kindly sent me some Squares today.
Margaret has very kindly sent me some SIBOL Squares before for our project and I'm most grateful, thank you.
